An estimated 6.5 million sports coaches provide instruction to youth. Less than 5% have received relevant training, according to the National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education. Meaningful relationships between coach and athlete are foundational for youth to receive the outcomes associated with sports. A coach provides a caring environment, acceptance and proper guidance.
