NCYS Appoints New Board Members

The National Council of Youth Sports is pleased to announce the appointment of a new slate of Board members. Their new terms are scheduled to begin on July 21, 2020. The Board’s duties are to direct the business of the association.

I am pleased to welcome Adam, Ann, Jack, Gil, Jack, Joe and Stan as new Board members,” said Wanda Rutledge, Board Chairman. “This collective group brings an enormous amount of experience, expertise and talent. They will be a tremendous asset to the National Council of Youth Sports and the youth sports sector.”

The new NCYS board members include: 

  • Adam Andrasko, CEO, USA Artistic Swimming (Synchronized Swimming) has 10 years of experience with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and the United States Olympic Paralympic Committee (USOPC). He has been the CEO at USA Artistic Swimming for more than one year and previously served as manager of community partnerships at the United States Olympic Paralympic Committee and Member Services Director at USA Field Hockey.

  • Ann Kitt Carpenetti, Vice President of Lacrosse, US Lacrosse has 20 years of experience in public policy and rules development, advocacy and grassroots events and organizing, board development and volunteer management. Before joining US Lacrosse, Ann worked in government relations in the public health non-profit sector, most recently as the Director for Public Policy and Constituency Affairs for the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.

  • Jack Crowe, Founder and Chairman, CoachSafely Foundation is a legendary college football coach.  He was most recently the head coach at Jacksonville State University with stops at Arkansas, Livingston, University of North Alabama, Clemson and Baylor. In 2013 he formed the CoachSafely Foundation as a consulting organization for developing youth sports safety policy, education, research, and community outreach.  He led advocacy for a House Bill in the Alabama State Legislature to mandate a course statewide. The Bill became a state law in April 2018.

  • Gil Fried, Sport Management Professor/Departmental Chair, University of New Haven has some 30 years of experience in the sport sector. Professor Fried is a specialist in sport law, finance and facility management. He has written more than 12 books on sport risk management, facility management, esports and sport finance.  He’s published more than 300 articles. Professor Fried is the editor of Sports Facilities & the Law newsletter.  He has served as general and outside counsel for various sport organizations over the years such as Dixie Baseball/Softball and the Sportsplex Operators and Developers Association (SODA).

  • Joseph Janosky, Director, Sports Safety, Hospital for Special Surgery has 27 years of experience as a sports medicine clinician. He serves on several committees with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Public Health Association, and the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society and serves as an advisor to the Aspen Institute’s Project Play 2020 initiative. In addition to delivering education and research presentations nationally and internationally, Joe is currently completing a doctoral degree in Public Health.

  • Stan Kubis, President, SK Advisory is an accomplished C-Suite technology professional. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Previously, Stan held global IT leadership roles at Kimberly-Clark Corp., and Plexus Corp. He has experience designing, delivering and operating customer-focused systems and with cybersecurity, data privacy, accessibility and related practices to protect youth, donors, volunteers and data.

The new Board members join Rutledge, Pam Marshall (AAU), Trish Sylvia (National Center for Safety Initiatives) and Talty O’Connor (Covey Communications Corporation).
